The impact of the Pharmaceutical Industry can be both good and bad.
Positives
The Pharmaceutical industry helped create drugs for rabies. These treatments can help to prolong the lives of animals.
If vaccines were not tested on animals, millions of animals would die and that would lower the population of that animal.
The pharmaceutical industry has many laws that the people testing has to follow which prevents the animals from mistreatment so the drug passes all of the safety tests so the can sell it later and make money
It's obvious that animal research benefits animals and that they are all able to live longer, healthier, happier lives because of it. Animal researchers treat animals very well both for the animal and to ensure test results are reliable so the can sell them to the public and make more money.
Although there are a lot of positive impacts on animals there are a also a few Negatives.
The pharmaceutical industry is a cruel and inhumane thing to do to animals. Animals used in experiments are usually burnt, force fed and cut to study the healing process and physical well being. Animals are very different to humans so they give irrelevant results some of the time, therefore they are poor test subjects. 95% of the animals used for testing are not covered by the animal welfare act including birds, fish, rats and mice. Most experiments involving animals are a waste of time , it is not only wasting time but it is wasting the lives of the animals as well. Medical breakthroughs involving animal could still have been made without the use of animals. All of these things are a decision made by the pharmaceutical industry.
